ORBIS SOLARIS sundial | Helios Sundials

The ORBIS SOLARIS U is currently showing 1:00 PM Greenwich Mean Time in London. On May 1, the sun is just over Dakar in Senegal.

This is also the case in New York City: the ORBIS SOLARIS U shows the subsolar point in Dakar. But it is only 8:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST).

The ORBIS SOLARIS U sundial is located in San Francisco and displays 13:30 Pacific Standard Time (PST).

The ORBIS SOLARIS U XL (left) is the large version with almost three times the world map area.

The ORBIS SOLARIS U XL offers a much finer resolution of the time and date lines. Here, the sundial shows 14:10 CET on March 20.

ORBIS SOLARIS

Exactly half the world with your own location at the center - that is the world circle (lat. orbis) shown on the ORBIS SOLARIS sundial. This world circle is the solar event horizon in which the sun moves during the year from sunrise to sunset, from the winter solstice to the summer solstice. When the sun is shining, you can continuously follow the position of the sun over the world on the ORBIS SOLARIS world map.

The ORBIS SOLARIS is the first sundial to offer this variety of functions and precision.
