Description
Cardboard kit of the so-called general clock panel. An ingenious invention from 1476 by Johannes Müller, called Regiomontanus, the famous astronomer and mathematician from Königsberg in Lower Franconia. Suitable as a travel sundial for latitudes from 30° to 65°. The time as well as the sunrise and sunset times can be determined. Even the duration of twilight, separated into civil, nautical and astronomical twilight can be read, a unique function for sundials. The back is equipped with a quadrant for measuring the altitude of the sun, so that one can also determine the latitude.
