Description
Cardboard kit with two sundials of different construction. If you turn them until both sundials show the same time, the exact alignment to the south is achieved. A precise compass without a magnetic needle! Adjustable for any latitude between Cairo and Oslo. The upper sundial is a horizontal sundial with a shadow rod aligned to the celestial pole (pole star), the lower sundial has a shadow rod perpendicular to the dial, which is set to the day's date with a scale.
A great gnomonic gadget that is very useful as a compass and time indicator.
