POLARIS L - Sundial kit for the whole world

‘And yet it moves!’ is what the Italian physicist, mathematician, philosopher and astronomer Galileo Galilei is said to have muttered when, at an advanced age and facing the Inquisition, he was forced to renounce the Copernican view of the world. Galilei has since been rehabilitated by the Church, and today we know beyond doubt that the Earth revolves around the Sun and rotates on an axis pointing towards the North Star.

We have added a sundial kit made of aircraft plywood to the stainless steel POLARIS. The POLARIS L (L stands for ‘Lignum’, Latin for wood) even has an additional date display and is suitable for latitudes between 64°S and 64°N. The shadow of the gnomon shows where the Sun is currently located on the world map. It also gives you the exact Standard Time, even summer time (daylight saving time).

You can find more information in our Sundial - Shop.
